If you are supervising or working in the highway, you could be required to hold Street Works qualifications. Our courses are ran at our site and come with CABWI accreditation on completion.

The aim of this course is to provide both operators and supervisors with the skills and knowledge to carry out cable avoidance work in line with the current NRSWA in order to safeguard themselves and others.
Learning Outcomes:
• Interpret information and plans showing the location of underground apparatus
• Understand how to interpret information and plans showing the location of underground apparatus
• Identify utilities apparatus and highways services encountered during excavation
• Understand how to identify utilities apparatus and highways services encountered during excavation
• Identify the hazards and risks associated with underground utilities apparatus and highways services
• Understand the hazards and risks associated with underground utilities apparatus and highways services
• Use pipe and cable location equipment
• Understand how to use of pipe and cable location equipment
• Follow safe working practices
This course runs for 1 day and had a maximum of 6 candidates per course. The course is held at our site in Bredbury, Stockport. Toilets and refreshments on site.
By the end of the course candidates will be able to understand the basic principles of the current NRSWA and standards set out by CABWI. They will be able to identify potential risks to themselves and others. Read and understand site plans and operate cable avoidance tools in order to avoid and locate underground apparatus.
